Newly adopted WEP Charter

In April 2024, the Women's Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) anticipated the upcoming changes within the European Union by adopting a new charter that encapsulates the organization’s updated mission and values. The charter aimes at promoting our values in EU policymaking and regulation during the 5 years ahead.

In July 2024, the European Parliament finalized its organizational structure, WEP will then seize the opportunity to engage with key Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) whose work corresponds to WEP's objectives. These include influential bodies such as :
- Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM)
- Committee in Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO)
- Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON)

WEP will also engage with other EU institutions:
- the European Commission, in particular Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs (DG GROW),
- the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) - Section for Employment, Social Affairs, and Citizenship,
- the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE),
and the COSME Programme (Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises)

WEP plans to distribute its newly adopted charter in the second half of the year, ensuring it reaches all relevant stakeholders within these institutions. This distribution will be followed by a relaunch of WEP’s initiatives and advocacy efforts, including the Women Entrepreneurs Interest group.  We will position the organization to effectively champion the interests of women entrepreneurs.
